The 2024 Tesla Model Y is almost single-handedly responsible for putting fully electric vehicles (EVs) on the map in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment, which was dominated by the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid before its arrival. Point being, it's a volume-seller all over the world, including in Australia where buyer preferences are typically more conservative.

So, what makes the Model Y so appealing? Well, despite an influx of EV competition from the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6 and now even the Toyota bZ4X and Subaru Solterra, it remains sharply priced, so much so that its rivals are struggling to compete when it comes to the all-important value for money.
